Update...

Well.... my computer isn't working again, so I don't have any pictures for this post. I may have to reinstall Vista again. Until then, I am using Danior's computer when he is home. Here is a little about what is going on now at the Martin home:

We still don't have a bathroom... the next time they will come (supposedly) to work on it is Tuesday. We have been doing fairly well without a shower and tub for over 2 weeks now. Unfortunately, I have to get up super early to shower (which explains the 6:30am post), and RL doesn't get her nightly bath. It's been tough, but we look at it as kinda camping.

Friday night/Saturday morning 1:00am: I get a phone call from a tenant, and she comes knocking on our door to tell us that not only is water coming in to her apartment, but that the laundry room is completely flooded. Danior and I run down there to investigate and discovered that one of the hot water heaters is spewing water. Not only has it soaked the laundry room, but also the large storage room next door and the tenants apartment next to that. Luckily the tenant was awake at 1am to notice it all. Danior and I do our best to shut off the water to the heater to stop the leaking. Then I send Danior back to bed since he had to get up early to go take the CPA exam Sat. morning. I then got out the mop and bucket to clean the tenants apartment and after that I got as much water out of the storage and laundry rooms that I could. The next morning when the handy man was able to come by to check things out, he realized that the two water heaters were connected, so in order to shut off the broken one, it meant we would have NO HOT WATER. I called the plumber immediately and he was able to come sometime from 10-12. Unfortunatley this meant missing my friends baby shower that started at 10am. After many phone calls from tenants about the lack of hot water (some were understanding, others were very rude) the plumber showed up. So, it is now Monday morning... we have 1 working water heater for 34 apartments. We take luke-warm showers... but are greatful to have warm water!!! Who knows when this will be fixed....

My goal this week is to try and get our household back on our usual dialy routine. Since we haven't had our bathroom, and we have all been sleeping in the kids room because of the smell from the bathroom... our sleep/nap/daily schedules have been all goofed. Since I don't know how long it will be until the bathroom gets repaired and is usable again, I figured I need to just "suck it up" and return things to as normal as they can get.

Jonah has his 4-month check-up and vaccines this afternoon. Unfortunatley it is right in the middle of naptime (or what used to be naptime). It was the only appointment they had available. Wish me luck... I know I will have two unhappy kids...

But.... despite all the problems/emergencies/and rude tenants... we are grateful for our many blessings. We still have water, and luke-warm water, we have an empty apartment next door to shower in, we have health insurance, we have jobs, and we have a home. I keep telling Danior that we have to look for the blessings in all of these bad things that continue to happen, if we don't we will just go nuts! So far we've been able to find at least some small blessing that has come from almost everything. I am thankful for a loving husband who helps to reassure me that things will be okay, for children who are practically perfect in all ways that matter, for the gospel which brings so much peace in times of trial, and for a loving Father in Heaven who gives us hope that things will get better.

I love to hear about what we left behind. It is like dejavu reading your posts about the apartments. We have had the exact same problems when we were there. All I can do is laugh and remind you that this too shall pass.
