HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Saturday, March 8, Rebekah had her first birthday party! The guest list included: Katy, Danior, Rebekah, Aunt Brenda and Uncle Mike, Uncle Steven, Aunt Devon, Grandma and Grandpa Shisley, Grandma and Grandpa Martin, Great-grandma Joyce, Great-grand parents Lenore and Gene, Doris Kilgrow, and the Elders. Makes for quite a party if you ask me...

We gathered in our apartment while the BBQ at the pool area was lit and cleaned. Then we brought out all the fixin's for an all American BBQ (hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, soda, veggies, and condiments) Danior BBQ-ed while Aunt Devon took Rebekah to dip her feet (and legs) into the pool.

Once lunch was over, we cleaned up. Danior and Steven decided to conduct a science experiment with the left over sodas, waters, and ice. Conclusion: Soda cans sink to the bottom of the pool, water bottles float, and vitamen water sinks.

Once everyone made it inside it was time to open gifts. I was hoping Rebekah would try and open her gifts on her own, but she only kind of did that. Once the first gift was opened she started playing with it and didn't want to put it down... except when she tried to eat the wrapping paper.

After gifts it was time to eat cake. I stripped Rebekah down to just a diaper and a bib. Grandma Shisley cut her a piece of cake and she went hog wild!!! I thought she would just play with the cake and smear the frosting around... but boy was I wrong. She gulped the whole thing down! She didn't even get as messy as I thought she would... but she had a GREAT time! The cake wasn't too bad either.

So, Rebekah, welcome to toddler-hood.

Great time and a nice party. Hard to believe she is already one year old. Is she still playing with the bear?

Her party sounds like it was so much fun. Time goes by so fast doesn't it. Seems like just yesterday we were playing tennis and hanging out at institute.

How fun! I love the cake pictures, how funny that she gobbled it all down. :)
