... a new toy...

About a week ago Rebekah and I went to Wal-mart. We love to wander around looking at all the fun things... who doesn't. This time we happened through the toy aisles. My intentions were to look at blocks or duplo legos, but we got side-tracked when we passed the dolls. Seeing the dolls and the bottles and outfits reminded me of the "What to Expect" Toddler Book and that one of the things Rebekah should be able to do is to feed a baby doll a bottle. She has a couple little dolls, but they are all fabric and don't have mouths to put bottles in.
I also started thinking that it might be fun for Rebekah to have a doll that looks more like a real baby to help prepare her for her little brother. I found one that was the same size and weight of a typical newborn... and it came with a bottle... woohoo!!! Rebekah fell in love at the store.

She carried her "baby" everywhere. It doesn't have a name, other than baby, but she will hold her, give her hugs and kisses, and feed her a bottle. Sometimes she tried to feed her her own bottle, but we try to remind her that the baby has her own bottle. Rebekah is learning to be soft when she touches the baby. Hopefully she'll remember that when her brother is born.

I think you should name the baby pooh or angel.

That was a really good idea. Now let's analyze the picture, Beks is a really smart kid. While we see a little girl that is absolutely loving her new baby doll, her arm is thrown over it and she is snuggling with it, life is good.
In reality, she is smothering it so the little thing cannot get away while she feverishly presses her arm deeper and deeper into the throat of poor helpless little baby doll. The smile is just to throw everybody off.

Survival of the fittest. Beks 1 Baby Doll 0. Sadly, first to 1 wins.
